BIM
BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING

Summary

WHAT IS BIM?

BIM (Building Information Modeling) is the convergence technology that brings together all the players in the construction industry: design offices, construction companies, contracting authorities, architects, manufacturers of materials and equipment, etc.

BIM HAS ESTABLISHED ITSELF AS A VERITABLE COMMON LANGUAGE THROUGHOUT THE VALUE CHAIN OF A BUILDING.

It is a collaborative software that aggregates all the necessary information for the construction of a building: from the architect's walls to the plumber's pipes, including the technical controller's regulatory indications... These are all layers that overlap, interlock and communicate with each other.

By breaking down the barriers between construction sites and offices, BIM is the springboard that the industry has been waiting for to fully embark on its digital transformation. Information is constantly updated and flows efficiently throughout the project's life cycle. Material inventories and flows are optimized, clashes or interferences are detected upstream thanks to the predictions of the digital model, and costs - whether in terms of time, expense or ecological footprint - are significantly reduced.

Your BIM projects with Bureau Veritas

ADVANTAGES

  • Compliance can now be monitored in real time: the inspection offices can propose a control of the building very early on thanks to the acceleration of the BIM.
  • Anticipate, reduce costs and delays in the design and construction phases, but also in the operation, maintenance and even deconstruction phases.

Support / AMO BIM

Because a BIM project presents additional technical challenges and a new organizational approach, Bureau Veritas offers you assistance as a BIM AMO.

Our objectives are to help you define the project owner's objectives, set up a BIM specification (technical and organizational requirements), validate the BIM model at all stages of the project and ensure that the BIM model is compatible for better project, cost and schedule management.

We can intervene at all stages of the project (sketch, DCE, during the construction site) to support you in a personalized way according to your needs.

BIM CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAININGS

Bureau Veritas offers you several types of BIM certification: company certification or BIM models.

A complete offer for :

  • A "Ready to BIM" recognition of your company (company demonstrating its ability to work with BIM; equipment, staff and organization)
  • As-Built" (conformity to construction) or "Ready for Operation" (completeness of information required for operation) certified models.

I CHECK

The first plug-in that allows you to check the conformity of a BIM model in real time.
I check is a plug-in for Revit from Autodesk. It automatically checks the conformity of a real estate project during the design phase.
I check, improves the quality approach in BIM: Reliability, design, coordination, performance and time saving!
